The Tredyffrin‑Easttown facilities committee provided updates April 16 on summer construction, athletic‑field work, playground projects and potential short‑term modular classroom installations.
Architects and consultants reported that tree clearing for the athletic‑fields project has begun and that demolition and clearing came in under budget (reported as about $425,689 compared with a $430,000 budget). Work on playground projects at Valley Forge Elementary came in roughly 11 percent over budget but the committee identified offsetting savings in engineering fees tied to township and zoning commitments.
Committee members discussed modular classroom units intended to bridge elementary‑school enrollment gaps from fall 2024 to fall 2027; a consultant fee letter for storm‑water review was recommended and the project was estimated in the neighborhood of $543,000 for initial scope review and design. Ms. Eckendorf (HSA) reviewed that fee letter and the committee chose to proceed with the storm‑water study and discuss the modular units further at the next facilities meeting.
The facilities committee also reviewed a fee letter and proposed schedule for a potential sixth elementary school; the packet lists an estimated project cost of $69,285,063 including the purchase price of property. That fee letter and related materials were placed on the consent agenda and moved forward for full‑board approval for next steps.
Several of these items (structured cabling fee letter, low contractor bids, tree‑clearing contract and the fee letters described above) were placed on the consent agenda and were approved as part of the consent vote earlier in the meeting.
