At the start of the April 29 meeting the board heard a student representative update from Lehi Shaw (Conestoga High School) and a multi-part recognition of Valley Forge Elementary students and staff. Presentations highlighted World Down Syndrome Day activities, yearbook cover contest winners and 3rd‑grade art collaborations; special education supervisor Lisa Snyder and principal Becky Wills joined board members to present certificates.
Committee reports later noted district equity work: the diversity committee heard a GSA executive team presentation on allyship and representation and a district initiative to provide teacher training in inclusive instruction dispositions. The board also heard that district teams continue strategic‑plan work on curriculum, equity and staff support.
The board acknowledged two gifts: a $7,500 cash donation from Andy Spillard to the district Food and Nutrition Department and a Loughton Audio LA‑220 microphone donated by Conestoga alumnus Mark Minnickazi (valued in the meeting comments at about $300) for the high school TV studio. The board secretary will send letters of thanks.
