At its meeting, the Woburn City Conservation Commission took several procedural actions: it delayed a public hearing for a McDevitt Drive project to April 25 at 6:30 p.m., approved permit requests and minutes, scheduled a site visit for 10 Karen Road, and voted not to schedule a Department of Public Works filing until missing items are submitted.
Staff (Speaker 9) informed the commission that the applicant for the McDevitt Drive notice of intent (DEP# 348‑862) requested a delay; Commissioner Speaker 4 moved to postpone the hearing to the April 25 meeting and the commission carried the motion. "We will open that on our April 25 meeting at 06:30," Speaker 1 confirmed.
The commission accepted minutes for March 14, 2024 (with two abstentions noted) and March 21, 2024 (with one abstention), and approved a scout camping permit for Troop 502 for May 3. The scout event includes a campfire with a required permitting check by the fire department and planned cleanup and trail maintenance on Conservation Day.
Commissioners scheduled a site visit to review a request at 10 Karen Road for Monday, April 22 at 5:30 p.m.; staff will notify the owner. A resident also raised a fallen tree incident on conservation land off Lowell Street; staff said they would inspect the location before authorizing any removal.
Commissioner Speaker 4 moved that a Notice of Intent filed by Environmental Partners on behalf of DPW for citywide stream maintenance be held until required items (abutter notification, certified abutters list, and property owner signatures) are provided. The motion carried and staff will notify the applicant and consultant that the filing is incomplete and will not be scheduled until completed.
The meeting adjourned after a motion by the vice chair (Speaker 7).
