The Woburn Traffic Commission tabled consideration of a signage request for a deaf and legally blind child near 3 Lots Road on March 21, pending a recommendation from the Commission on Disability.
Staff told the commission that the petitioner could not attend and that the request would proceed first to the Commission on Disability; the traffic commission agreed to await that recommendation and to return the item to its agenda later. Commissioners noted an available yellow “Caution Blind Child” sign (from uniform traffic control devices) and suggested two such signs as a possible proposal. One participant noted that the particular warning sign is not codified in the city’s traffic code and therefore “does not need multiple readings to pass.”
The commission asked staff to have in mind a proposed sign layout and to coordinate with the Commission on Disability when the petitioner is available. No formal action adopting signage was recorded; the item was placed back on the meeting table to await the Commission on Disability’s recommendation.
