Board finds stair/elevation change at 50B Campbell Street is a minor modification

The board determined an internal remedial change — an extended stair landing to meet code — at 50B Campbell St is a minor modification to a previously‑granted special permit.

Abdul Khalil, project manager for View Contracting, said the change adjusts internal stairs from the ground to the first floor to meet code and does not alter exterior square footage or lot lines. The board and an attending police representative confirmed the work is internal and intended solely to fix an elevation difference noted after construction.

A motion that the change qualifies as a minor modification carried on a unanimous voice vote. The board advised the applicant there are no further procedural steps required of the ZBA for this internal remedial work beyond usual building‑department permits.

The petitioner left the meeting with the board’s guidance on moving forward with the corrective work.
