Woburn Planning Board elects Bob Doherty chair, Mike Ventresca vice chair for 2024

Bob Doherty was elected chair of the Woburn City Planning Board for calendar year 2024, and Mike Ventresca was elected vice chair during the board's opening procedural business.

The board paused for nominations and a roll-call vote after former chair Claudia Bogan and others completed two-year terms in leadership. A member recused themself from the chair nomination before nominating Doherty; the motion to elect Doherty carried after a roll-call in which members recorded “Aye.” Later the board nominated and elected Ventresca as vice chair by motion and subsequent roll-call.

The elections followed the board’s established custom of annual leadership votes at the start of the calendar year, with many members noting continuity and thanking outgoing officers for their service. Both newly elected officers expressed brief appreciation to the board.
