The Southmoreland School District board approved the personnel log for April 16, 2024, after sectional roll‑call voting prompted by concerns about numerous resignations listed under section 1. One board member said she would vote no on resignations in section 1 but yes on other sections; several members recorded similar split votes. Members asked that personnel lists be provided to the public in advance so citizens can review items prior to a vote.
Separately, the board approved the appointment of Isabella Diaz as a school psychologist intern for the 2024–25 school year; the position is to be funded via an external grant. When asked whether the grant had final approval, staff responded that the grant had been signed but if the grant is not ultimately awarded the intern would not receive pay: "If it doesn't get approved, she'll receive no money," an administrator said.
Board members also questioned the internship workload expectations, asking whether 25 assessments per year was sufficient for a training placement. Administrators said the 25‑assessment minimum is a requirement of the intern’s university program.
