Mark Hoff, vice principal at Cheltenham High School, presented a recognition segment highlighting the work of students in the fine arts and the many recent student achievements across athletics and performing arts.
Hoff said the boardroom currently displays a preview of works that will appear in the 2025 annual high school art exhibition and named the teachers involved, including Adam Farrell, Stephanie Jackson, Rob Novinski, Lori Oliveras (department chair of art), Michael Oliveras and Lauren Scheip. He noted selected works will appear next month at the PSEA 30th Annual High School 'Touch the Future' Student Art Show at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell and that the CHS show will be held in May.
Hoff also listed student accomplishments in athletics and music, calling out qualifiers and record setters across wrestling, indoor track, pentathlon, swimming and diving and stating several students advanced to meet-of-champions and state-level competitions. He announced upcoming events including a Cavalcade Jazz Festival, boys and girls basketball playoff games, a dual-enrollment family webinar, a Vocal Arts Coffee House on Feb. 26, and a March performance of The Addams Family by the musical theatre program.
Separately, student council representative Zuri delivered brief student-council updates about a planned mini-lesson at Glenside Elementary, a potential thrift sale, a successful collaboration with Easterseals and a forthcoming food drive with the Willow Grove Food Pantry.
Hoff closed by thanking teachers and staff and inviting board members and the public to view the art on display in the boardroom.
