Board members were updated on the superintendent search process and next steps during the Jan. 16 meeting. The search firm HYA completed individual interviews with board members, closed a community survey that yielded approximately 1,200 responses and conducted about 20 focus groups with community stakeholders.
Board members praised the focus-group facilitation and noted a cross-section of respondents including students, parents and community members. The next step on the schedule is a special board meeting on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. to present the district leadership profile compiled by HYA and to continue the search timeline; the position is advertised and applications are being accepted.
Board members encouraged broad community participation in the upcoming presentation and thanked those who completed survey or focus-group input. The HYA report and focus-group summaries are available to board members through the member portal.
