Whitley County court records minutes to add Nick to Fort Bank accounts, preserves escrow signer

The Whitley County Fiscal Court voted to clarify authorized signatories on four Fort Bank accounts, adding 'Nick' to all county accounts except the occupational tax escrow account, which will continue to be signed only by the escrow agent, Wanda Simons.

Presiding officer explained the change arose after an earlier transition following Jeff’s passing, noting minutes previously indicated adding Nick but signature cards were not completed. The court said the escrow account is governed by an interlocal agreement and that funds there are to be distributed by a neutral escrow agent rather than county staff.

A motion to make the signatory change and record it in the minutes was made and seconded; the clerk called the roll and members present voted in the affirmative, approving the update. Court members said the minutes will provide the bank with documentation of the authorized signers.

The court directed the clerk to include the change in the minutes so the bank will have documentary support for the signatory list.
