Court approves appropriation transfers and pays two sheriff reimbursement claims

The Whitley County Fiscal Court approved appropriation transfers and paid two claims at a special-called meeting.

Presiding officer explained there were two appropriation transfers: one to cover sheriff reimbursement items related to the earlier budget amendment and another to move funds to pay a land-acquisition closing the court approved in January; that closing was expected to occur prior to March. The court stated that a claim related to the January motion had already been made and approved in January but required an appropriation transfer to move the funds to the correct account.

A motion and second were made to approve the transfers; the clerk called the roll and members present voted in the affirmative, approving the transfers by roll call. The court then moved to payment of claims: two claims listed were sheriff reimbursement claims, tied to the excess fees and the payroll correction already discussed. A motion to accept payment of the claims was made and seconded; the clerk called the roll and the claims were approved by the members present.

The meeting then concluded with a motion to adjourn.
