At a single meeting the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors approved several routine but consequential items by unanimous vote.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included payment of a $2,473,527.07 bills list dated 05/13/2024; minutes; a DPW yard improvements change order (negative $3.33); and two resolutions to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for flood mitigation and watershed restoration grants.
The board also authorized the township manager to execute a lease surrender agreement with Premier Media LLC for a monument billboard at the corner of South Flowers Mill Road and Business Route 1. Township counsel said Commonwealth Court ruled the billboard was not permitted in the right‑of‑way under the township ordinance; the sign has already been removed.
The solicitor was authorized to draft and advertise an ordinance to prohibit parking at a Township tributary access point on Highland Park Drive (between 88 and 100 Highland Park Drive) to preserve maintenance access. The citizen traffic commission reviewed the proposal and expressed no objections.
Parks & Recreation obtained approval to execute a contract with Durham School Services LP for bus services for the 2024 summer recreation program in the budgeted amount of $21,830.32.
All motions reported from the floor were seconded and carried by voice vote; multiple items recorded as carried 5‑0.
