Board votes to terminate Heart and Lung Act benefits for Officer Samantha Weed

Township solicitor Mister Esposito told the Board the record in the continuation hearing regarding Middletown police officer Samantha Weed’s Heart and Lung Act benefits was closed and that both sides submitted exhibits and written findings. Supervisor Hanna moved to terminate Officer Weed’s Heart and Lung Act benefits on the board’s finding that the work‑related disability had ceased; the motion was seconded and carried by a 5–0 vote.

Esposito said a written decision documenting the board’s findings and the rationale will be issued within 20 days, consistent with the hearing procedures.
