The Neshaminy School District Board approved several facilities and contract actions at its meeting, including a Core Creek Elementary construction change order, design authorization for an accessible nurses’ suite at Maple Point, and acceptance of a playground equipment donation.
Mister Rodriguez moved to authorize change order number 3 for Core Creek Elementary related to extra fencing and to allow the business administrator to execute the change order with Bridal Architecture Group and York Construction Inc., in an amount not to exceed $22,611.07. The motion passed unanimously.
For Maple Point, the board approved a design proposal from Speasel Architects to develop construction documents for a nurses’ office/bathroom renovation that includes a student lift to bring the facility into ADA compliance. The design authorization was approved with a not-to-exceed amount of $11,600.
Miss Lafferty moved to accept a donation from the Neshaminy Kids Club of a Gaga play pit, including floor covering, for Schweitzer Elementary valued not to exceed $3,699. Mister Rodriguez seconded; the board thanked the Neshaminy Kids Club for recurring support to district schools and approved the donation 7–0.
Each of these items passed in separate motions recorded in the meeting minutes; staff will return design bids and formal construction contracts to the board for future approval when appropriate.
