Neshaminy board adopts updated policies, cites Pennsylvania Human Relations Act

The Neshaminy School District Board approved second reading and final adoption of revisions to policies in series 100 during its meeting.

Speaker Paul Cirillo (recorded as making the motion) explained that after first reading the policies were revised to reference the most recent Pennsylvania Human Relations Act regulations to ensure proper interpretation. Policies adopted for final inclusion included policy 103 (discrimination/harassment affecting students), 103.1 (nondiscrimination of qualified students with disabilities), 104 (discrimination/harassment affecting staff), 113.1 (discipline of students with disabilities), 113.2 (behavior support), 113.4 (confidentiality of special education student information), 137 (home education programs) and related sub-policies 137.1–137.3 and 800.1 (electronic data storage).

The motion for second reading and adoption was seconded by Mister Sullivan and approved by a 7–0 vote. Board members did not record substantive debate in the minutes beyond the notation that the references were updated to align with state regulations.
