Wasatch County Fire board approves minutes, $1.06 million in warrants and confirms new hires

The Wasatch County Fire Protection Special Service District board approved the minutes of the Jan. 9 meeting and voted to approve warrants totaling $1,055,708.97, the chair said.

The chief highlighted major items on the warrants list, including a large payment to Big D, purchase of an ambulance chassis and the down payment on an ambulance refurbishment that are budgeted for the year. He also confirmed that the district recently hired six EMTs for the South Summit contract and six firefighters; uniform costs appear on the warrants list.

A motion to approve the warrants was made by board member Mark, seconded by Spencer, and the board responded 'Aye.' During the minutes approval vote one member abstained, stating they were not present for the Jan. 9 meeting. No additional formal budget actions were taken at the meeting beyond the warrants approval.

The board then moved on to the chief's report and operational updates.
