Soledad council certifies special election results and swears in Fernando Anzaldo Sanchez

The City Council formally adopted the canvas of election returns for the March 5 consolidated special municipal election by approving Resolution 6,062. City staff reported that Fernando Anzaldo Sanchez was elected to the vacant council seat for a two‑year, eight‑month term, and the council moved immediately to administer the oath of office.

The oath was administered by city staff with a guest from the city of Salinas assisting; Sanchez thanked residents and family and pledged to work for the community where he was born and raised. Council members congratulated Sanchez and acknowledged the recent redistricting debate and the community engagement around the election process.
