John Olsen of the Equalization Office reported that four applicants submitted timely applications and payments for temporary campgrounds; staff reviewed them and found no issues. ‘‘As always, we always do a campground inspection of the temporary ... prior to the rally and prior to actually issuing their actual certificate for this,’’ Speaker 6 said. Examples mentioned included Arnie's Acres and Back 40/Guilford Gulch.
Speaker 5 moved to approve the temporary campground permits, the motion was seconded and the commission approved the permits by voice vote. Speaker 5 noted that most large, permanent campgrounds are licensed by the state and these approvals are for temporary events.
Olsen also presented a recap of the county art contest: he said there were 68 submissions in total; trophies were distributed to the schools and winners. Commissioners and staff thanked participants and staff who organized the contest.
