Planning commission honors Mike Hogan and Bonnie London; residents offer thanks

The Planning Commission read proclamations recognizing long-serving commissioner Mike Hogan and commissioner Bonnie London at its March 28 meeting.

A proclamation read into the record noted Mike Hogan’s years of service to the Town of Loomis and listed his involvement in the general plan update, the circulation committee, housing-element work and multiple project reviews. Mike Hogan addressed the commission, thanked staff and fellow commissioners, and offered advice to new members: “You get farther working with the developer than against him because they're coming.”

Jean read a separate proclamation honoring Bonnie London, noting her appointment in 2019 and her participation in the general plan update, housing-element committees and entitlement work on local projects. Commissioners expressed appreciation for both honorees.

During public comment, Russ Kelly (4246 Barton Road) thanked Bonnie and Mike for their service and welcomed the new commissioners. Greg Abramovich, joining remotely from Olympia, Washington, also offered thanks and said he would be watching future commission work from afar.

Why this matters: the proclamations formally record community recognition of long‑term volunteer service on the planning commission and publicly acknowledge contributions that shaped the town’s planning and development work.

The meeting then moved to other agenda items after the recognition and public comment period.
