Representatives from the sheriff’s office and the local fire district provided routine public-safety updates to the Loomis Town Council, summarizing September activity and recent event coverage.
Deputy Jeff Bilodeau outlined incident counts and response metrics for September in Loomis, listed report and citation counts, and reviewed staffing and traffic-control measures used at the Eggplant Festival and at Del[aware] High School’s homecoming events. He noted department recognition items — pink patches for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and mourning bands for fallen officers — and volunteered to print out charts for the next meeting to make the data easier to read.
The fire district representative reported 309 total responses for the district and 98 responses within Loomis, including 57 EMS responses and two mutual-aid fires; the district’s 90th-percentile response time was presented as about eight minutes and officials expected to lift the Cal Fire burn ban on Oct. 13 with permit requirements thereafter.
Council members thanked agency staff for public-safety work at community events. No policy or budget actions resulted from the reports.
What’s next: Deputies and fire staff will provide follow-up materials (charts) at a future meeting on request; the burn ban lifting will be coordinated with Cal Fire and air-pollution authorities.
