At the March 18 Loomis Town Council meeting, the town manager introduced Amy Chilton as a new finance hire and highlighted staff efforts to speed the building plan-review process and advance a community branding concept.
Amy Chilton, described by staff as having more than 24 years of fiscal-management experience, said, "I'm super excited to be here, and I have huge passion for public service." Staff said the first plan review will be accomplished within 12 days of submittal and subsequent reviews within 10 days; if the consultant cannot meet those deadlines the town will consider supplementary consulting help.
Library staff reviewed upcoming programs, including AARP tax-aide through April, story times, a manga club, and a March 27 ribbon cutting for the Master Gardener garden at the library, which will be open during library hours afterward.
Deputy Chief Matt Feeley of the South Placer Fire District presented February operational statistics: the district logged roughly 320 calls for service in February with about 62% medical aids, four fires and station-level breakdowns noting Station 18 had 87 runs and an approximate 90th-percentile response time near 8.5 minutes. He also flagged an upcoming district board meeting and a master-plan review.
A sheriff's office representative summarized February public-safety statistics (257 incidents, 25 reports, 5 arrests) and described a countywide automatic license-plate reader (ALPR) program that takes motion-activated still photos of license plates, retains data for 30 days and shares records with participating law enforcement agencies.
Councilmembers asked for follow-up on plan-review timetables, vendor sourcing for building and tree programs and public-safety outreach; staff said additional materials would be provided and community input solicited on the proposed branding concept.
The meeting proceeded to consent items and later substantive agenda items on tree programs and park improvements.
