Summit County staff demonstrated a redesigned public meetings page that puts agendas, minutes and indexed video in one place, officials said during the council meeting.
The new portal (summitcounty.org/meetings) displays upcoming events and, after a meeting, provides an archive with the agenda, minutes and a video player that includes an index of timestamped items. "It's live right now," a staff presenter said while navigating the site. The platform also allows staff to link directly to a segment of the meeting video and to share that clip by link or email.
Staff told the council that minutes from about 2014 onward are searchable in AgendaCenter and that earlier records are available in OnBase; drafts will be labeled as "draft" until formally approved. Council members asked staff to make it clearer on the new page how members of the public can find older minutes and where different date ranges reside.
County staff said the new download performance and indexing are improvements over the previous system and that rural offices can help constituents who need assistance navigating the site. The council offered general support for the change and asked communications staff to add plain‑language instructions for finding archival records across the county's systems.
