Council OKs $50,000 from restaurant‑tax funds to finish Camas civic plaza

Staff asked the council to authorize up to $50,000 from the restaurant‑tax county‑sponsored project set‑aside to complete the concrete slab and landscaping. Engineers had prepared grading and design work in house, but the county would likely hire a contractor for concrete pour and associated labor to avoid burdening road crews. Council members described the site as a pleasing community space and supported finishing the previously committed work; one councilor moved to approve the $50,000 allocation and another seconded the motion. The council approved the allocation by voice vote.
