The Eastern Summit County Planning Commission on Feb. 3 approved an application to establish a contractor’s yard for Black Oak Builders and Black Oak Stone & Landscaping, with conditions described in the staff report.
Staff presented a site plan showing a large building and two driveway approaches and said the applicant intends to keep machinery and equipment indoors with only limited outdoor storage and screening. “We’re approximately 72,000 square feet in size,” the applicant stated while describing the proposed building and internal layout.
Commissioners asked operational questions about vehicle sizes, equipment-washout arrangements and landscape screening. The applicant said typical vehicles would include a full-size dump truck and trailers and that washout and construction runoff would be managed through a construction-period outlet and on-site controls.
A commissioner moved to approve the application as stated in the staff report with the conditions laid out; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The approval was procedural and tied to the site plan and the conditions presented to the commission; staff noted the permit will require the applicant to meet conditions in the staff report before final sign-off.
The commission also approved the minutes from its Feb. 1 meeting during the same session and adjourned later in the evening.
