County council moves forward with option agreement to buy 'Your Ranch,' staff tells planning commission

During director updates at the March 16 Eastern Summit County Planning Commission meeting, county staff announced that the county council had voted unanimously to proceed with an option agreement to purchase a property referred to as "Your Ranch," approximately 834 acres including water rights.

The director told commissioners the council approved moving forward with the option agreement and that the first installment payment related to that option was expected the following day. Staff directed commissioners to the county council agenda packet, where a copy of the option agreement is posted for review.

Staff framed the acquisition as a “significant purchase in the South Summit, Rhodes Valley area” and advised commissioners to consult the council materials for exact terms. The planning commission took no formal action on the matter; the announcement was provided as an informational update to the commission.
