The director provided calendar and outreach updates, noting two conditional-use permit hearings scheduled next week on March 16 (an accessory building and an underground water storage tank). Staff said the Blue Sky conditional-use item and a rail-trail quarterly plan update are scheduled for April 6, and a code amendment package regarding accessory dwelling units is expected for the April 20 meeting.
Pat, the director, described a community planning lab that has been holding a 10‑week cohort to teach community members about land-use planning. The class will present projects on April 3 at 6 p.m. at the Grama Library, and staff encouraged commissioners to attend. Pat said the program is intended to broaden community understanding of planning processes and help develop potential future commission members.
Pat also noted three commission terms coming up for review and asked commissioners to apply if they want to continue. He asked if a commissioner would volunteer to represent the commission for countywide community-visioning engagement and said staff will follow up with dates and details.
What’s next: Staff will send calendar details and the draft rail-trail materials to the commission; Maddie will circulate an email with event information as requested.
Provenance: Director's updates and calendar items were presented during the director items section of the meeting.
