During public comment, a Summit County resident identified as Wendy Wolf told the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission she has repeatedly raised concerns about a neighbor’s large commercial‑wrapped RV parked alongside Snowview Drive and about an adjacent paved pad that she says may encroach into county right‑of‑way.
Wolf cited county sign and setback provisions (she referenced 10‑8‑2 on signage and setbacks) and said the RV — described in the record as a roughly 45‑foot vehicle wrapped with advertising — is parked for months and may be visible from the road and from neighbors’ properties. She asked whether such advertising on an RV is allowed in neighborhoods, whether extended storage and vehicle signage are prohibited, and whether the paved pad in the adjacent portion of the property is permitted in the county right‑of‑way.
"Are large advertising signs allowed in neighborhoods in Summit County?" Wolf asked, and requested clarification about whether the vehicle sits within the county right‑of‑way and whether the county’s setback and sign provisions apply.
Pat (county staff) responded that there are active code‑enforcement actions related to landscaping and signage in the neighborhood and recommended a focused follow‑up: staff will convene county engineers and code‑enforcement staff with the resident to review survey measurements, right‑of‑way lines and any notices of violation. Pat said notices of violation are in process for some landscaping contractor yards and that staff would reach out to the resident to schedule a meeting.
The commission did not take action at the meeting; staff committed to follow up with the resident to coordinate a meeting with the appropriate department stakeholders to review the claims and any outstanding enforcement actions.
