Commission nominates DJ to Silver Creek Village Design Review Committee

During other business, the commission discussed filling a vacancy on the Silver Creek Village Design Review Committee (DRC) created by recent membership changes. Commissioner Thomas Cook said the DRC is a small, important committee that reviews projects — including building permits and development-agreement compliance — and asked for a volunteer to replace Joel on the panel.

Thomas nominated Commissioner DJ for the role; DJ accepted the nomination "if that's the process." Senior planner Jennifer Strader described the DRC's duties: members use a checklist to review projects for basic compliance with design guidelines and the development agreement, often handle a steady stream of applications and building permits, and meet "as needed." Strader said she would contact Matt Lowe's team to notify them of the change and put DJ in touch with the DRC lead, and commissioners agreed to notify Pat as well.

Why it matters
The DRC conducts early design-level reviews intended to catch issues before applicants proceed to formal county submittal.
