Council reappoints and appoints five members to Recreation, Arts and Parks advisory committee

The Summit County Council on July 12 appointed and reappointed five members to the Recreation, Arts and Parks (RAP) Advisory Committee, with terms set to expire June 30, 2026.

Council interviewed multiple applicants in a round‑robin format. Interviewed applicants described their reasons for serving and the contributions they expect to bring: Les (full name as listed in the staff packet) emphasized analytical review of grant proposals and improving applicant communications; Gail described filling a prior expired term and urged modest timing changes to ease spring workload; Katie Lindsey highlighted work on application refinements and a summary template to streamline council review; Janae said the committee was genuine, welcoming and well balanced; Sharon Serpico Hansen was listed for reappointment in the packet. After questions about committee timing, application improvements and representation from the east side of the county, the council moved to appoint/reappoint the candidates; the motion carried unanimously.
