During the April 5 meeting the Summit County Council conducted a series of interviews for vacancies on local advisory bodies, including the Timberline Special Service District and the Recreation, Arts and Parks Advisory Committee (RAP Tax) — cultural subcommittee.
Christophe (Christopher) Gorder interviewed for a Timberline Special Service District vacancy, described his residence in Timberline (moved there July prior year), operations role at charity: water, and local concerns about roads and snow plowing. The chair said Christophe was the sole applicant and that staff would notify him of the council’s decision; the appointment for that vacancy was not made at this meeting.
The council interviewed multiple applicants for the RAP Tax cultural committee. Frank Lynch described payment-processing and HOA leadership experience and his DJ work at local radio; Marion Sanelo emphasized an arts and design background and volunteer work; Gail Rose described three decades in early childhood education, cultural-institution experience (including time at the Metropolitan Museum) and local volunteer roles. After deliberation the council moved, seconded and unanimously appointed Gail Rose to the Southern County Recreational Arts and Parks Advisory Committee (cultural) to fill the unexpired term of Hillary Gilson, expiring June 30, 2023.
Next steps: staff will notify applicants of council decisions and schedule outstanding appointments for upcoming meetings.
