The Board of Supervisors voted to award the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) contract to install ADA curb ramps in the Cobalt Ridge neighborhood to NJS Concrete LLC for a total of $278,685, combining the base bid and alternate #1.
Town staff reported Bucks County awarded up to $220,000 for the project; the base bid was $186,350 and the alternate bid for additional locations was $92,335, together exceeding the county award by $58,685. Staff said the county indicated the township could request additional funds; if extra funding is not approved the township’s capital fund would absorb the shortfall. Engineering and inspection by Remington & Vernicht were estimated to add roughly $30,000–$50,000 to the township’s non‑reimbursable costs.
Board discussion weighed leaving grant dollars unused versus committing township funds to secure additional ramps. One supervisor said they prefer to accept the alternate to avoid returning county funds, noting the accessibility work will still need to be completed in coming years. A motion was made to award the base and alternate to NJS Concrete LLC; the motion was seconded and the board approved the award.
