At its May 15 meeting the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors approved several public-works and capital items.
Township engineer Mister Kessler recommended awarding the 2023 ADA curb ramp replacement contract (Quincy neighborhood) to the lowest qualified bidder, Scott Building Corporation, for $465,100. Kessler explained that while the curb-ramp bid was approximately $65,000 over the curb-ramp line item, the road program bids came in significantly under budget, and when combined the overall package remains under the total budget. The board approved awarding the base bid and alternates by voice vote, 5-0.
Superintendent of Public Works Eric Gartenmeier requested authorization to purchase the dump body, plow and spreader that complement a truck previously approved in March. Funding was identified from an RDA grant and a CoStars procurement process. The motion to purchase one steel dump body, one plow and one spreader from H.A.D. Hart (New Jersey) for $97,724 was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Kessler also requested and the board authorized advertising to solicit bids for the 2023 CDBG ADA curb ramp replacement project, which is structured around a $220,000 township grant allocation to extend curb-ramp work into the Cobalt Ridge area.
No board member opposed the motions; all actions carried by voice vote.
