Resident urges Middletown to stop quad bikes damaging Cynthia Crossing Park

During public comment, resident Eric Bruno told the Middletown Board of Supervisors that young people riding quad bikes and dirt bikes have “commandeered” Cynthia Crossing Park (between Snowball and Red Rosegate) and repeatedly torn up walking trails and fields, creating hazards for children.

Bruno said he has called police several times — most recently twice the previous day — and characterized the response as too slow, accusing them of a roughly 30‑minute response time while riders remained onsite. He offered to provide photographs and identifying information about where the riders live and asked the township to take action before the park became unusable or someone was hurt.

The board chair acknowledged the matter is a recurring issue across township properties, said the township is in regular contact with the police department and asked Bruno to e‑mail photographs and any identifying details so staff could press the department for follow‑up. The chair also noted the police department has ATVs purchased in the budget to improve its ability to pursue off‑road violators.

“No one wants someone to get hurt,” Bruno told the board, and he urged prompt action; the township said it would circle back with the police and follow up on the resident’s information.

The board did not take immediate formal action at the meeting; staff said they would continue to work with police and requested the resident’s photographic evidence to support enforcement and targeted patrols.
