Contractor reports progress on Rising Sun street program; corings planned before milling and paving

A public-works/contractor representative told the board that Harmony Construction is advancing the town's street program. He reported Louise Court paving is complete though striping remains, concrete work on Turtle Black Court is done, and the final pour for Mason Run Lane is scheduled. He said the contractor agreed to perform core sampling on Turtle Black Court and Mason Run Lane to confirm pavement thickness and subbase conditions before determining whether to modify the paving section or base.

The representative said the contractor plans to bring a second crew to accelerate concrete work on Carruthers, expects to bring in the milling machine early next week to begin on Turtle Black Court and then move immediately to pave Turtle Black, Mason Run, Pearl Street and Carruthers in sequence as conditions allow. He noted spot milling and patching on Mount Street are under consideration but limits have not been defined.

Commissioners and town staff were described as maintaining communication with the contractor to resolve questions from coring results and to adjust the paving approach as necessary.
