Rising Sun swears in mayor and commissioners; Braun named vice mayor

Travis Marion was sworn in as mayor and Dave Warnec and Joe Shepherd were sworn in as town commissioners at the Town of Rising Sun meeting, where Charlene Nardicola administered the oaths of office. Following the swearing-in, Marion outlined commissioners’ assignments: Shepherd will oversee streets and sidewalks, Braun will remain as water and sewer commissioner, Warnecke will serve as parks and recreation commissioner and Pearson will continue as public safety commissioner.

The mayor nominated Pauline Braun as vice mayor. The motion to appoint Braun was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. The board’s affirmation of roles and the vice mayor appointment were carried without recorded opposition.

The swearing-in and leadership confirmations were followed by routine procedural items and scheduled presentations, marking the start of the newly seated board’s term.
