Assistant Town Administrator Judy told commissioners the town has secured Kim Stank of Zelenkowski Axelrod to serve as the town auditor; due to timing of some revenues the auditor cannot begin work until a 60-day waiting period ends on Oct. 1.
Judy reviewed preliminary fiscal-year cash flows: a positive general-fund cash flow of $112,534; water operations ending with about $154,000 (including a $25,000 retainage recorded that will modestly improve the total); and sewer operations ending approximately $36,000 in positive cash flow on a cash basis, though depreciation entries could change the accounting figures.
Commissioner Pearson proposed consolidating June–August meetings to a single monthly meeting (the fourth Tuesday) because of conference schedules and vacations; he asked the mayor to place the item on the next agenda for a formal vote and said emergency meetings could be called if needed.
Mayor also announced community items: commissioners attended the seventh annual sportsman bash at the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, a promotional town video will be released on social channels and YouTube, and Governor Hogan is expected to visit Main Street later this month. The mayor presented a mayoral citation honoring Jane Bellmeyer for 20 years of service with the Cecil Wig (as stated in the record). The meeting adjourned after a motion and voice vote.
