Edgerton council approves payroll and several permits, awards contract and transfers surplus funds

City of Edgerton council members on unanimous roll-call votes approved a series of routine finance, licensing and contract items during the meeting.

Finance approved bills and payroll totaling $358,758.42. Council also approved a temporary Class B beer/wine license for Ground Paws Rescue to operate at the Edgerton night markets. Public works items included awarding the lowest responsible bid for hauling soil to Churchill Trucking at the rate noted in the motion ($625 per hour) after staff said three bids were received; council recorded support for awarding to Churchill over other bidders who lacked needed equipment. Council approved transferring $62,169 from the 2023 general fund surplus into the capital projects fund and passed City of Edgerton Resolution 15-24 to add fees for sign permits. Personnel matters included approval of Resolution 0124A (salary resolution) with the council agreeing to express certain figures as percentages in the resolution language.

Each motion was approved by roll-call vote where the minutes record members responding yes; the meeting then moved into a closed session under Wisconsin statutes to discuss land sale, investments and litigation strategy.
