The Clarket City Council approved routine items March 4, including minutes from regular and special sessions and several departmental reports before moving to personnel matters in executive session.
The council approved minutes for the regular session and special session on motion; the presiding official said, "Motion carries." Speaker 2 presented the police department manpower and incident report for February 2024 (16 officers, 1,966 hours, 409 calls for service, 12 traffic accidents, 60 arrests and 480 traffic citations) and answered a question about the frequency of false alarms. The fire department monthly activity report for February 2024 was listed on the agenda and acknowledged.
Later in the meeting the presiding official cited Government Code 551.074 and announced the council would convene in executive session to conduct annual performance evaluations of the city administrator, the police chief and the fire chief, and asked the police and fire chiefs to leave the room. The council moved into executive session at the conclusion of the public portion of the meeting.
