Crockett City Council authorized the purchase of a used 2003 Mack roll-off truck from Live Oak Environmental LLC using excess funds from the Water Department vehicle line.
City staff said Live Oak recently refreshed its fleet and offered a roll-off truck the city had been borrowing while its own roll-off was out of service. Staff described the truck as in current service and well maintained; mechanics inspected it and recommended purchase. Staff told council the truck is being offered for $10,000 and that selling the city's old unit for parts could recoup roughly half of the expense.
A councilmember moved to approve the purchase using the Water Department's excess vehicle funds; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Staff said the acquisition will restore the city's ability to run property cleanups and related operations while improving fleet reliability.
