The City of Crockett approved amendments to its fiscal-year 2023 budget to capture new revenues and allocate funds for planned projects and purchases.
City staff told council the general fund would reflect an additional $1,191,000 in revenues and Fund 2 (water and sewer) would capture an additional $265,000. Special revenues (grants) were increased by $292,399.14 to account for newly received grant funds. The presenter said the total net change across departments amounted to $33,346 in additional increases.
Officials highlighted two significant allocations: $131,000 set aside for the purchase, implementation and training related to an ERP (enterprise resource planning) software package approved earlier by council, and $65,000 added for street maintenance and repair. The sewer department was shown as a savings of $70,000 while several departments saw reductions or small increases.
After clarifying questions, a councilmember moved to approve the resolution for the budget amendments; the motion was seconded and carried with 'all in favor' recorded in the meeting minutes.
City staff said the changes leave the overall fund balance improved and that administrators will continue work to finalize the ERP implementation and manage street repair projects.
