The Lincoln City Council issued a proclamation designating May 19'25 as National Public Works Week and held a public recognition of roughly 18 public-works employees during the May 14 meeting.
A city representative described public works as essential to infrastructure, public health and quality of life and recognized staff recipients by name and years of service, including Chris Nelson (environmental services manager ' 1 year at city, 30 years in water industry), Mike Osborne (public services supervisor and fleet ' 23 years), and Scott Boynton (maintenance services manager ' 25 years). Council members and the mayor thanked staff for emergency response and day-to-day service that contributes to the city's safety ranking.
Council adopted Proclamation 2024-03 by voice vote. Staff and council members took a group photo following the recognition.
