At its Oct. 6 meeting, the Clear Lake City Council formally administered the oath of office to Corporal Mark Harden, elevating him to sergeant in the Clear Lake Police Department. A department representative summarized Harden’s career — including military service, K‑9 work, field training and academy instruction — and Harden thanked family and colleagues during brief remarks.
The council also adopted proclamations designating October 2022 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Representatives from local service organizations thanked the council and announced awareness events, including a walk planned Oct. 22 in Kelseyville to highlight domestic-violence resources.
On an action item, the council approved the reappointment of Kurt Giambri Bruno to the Lake County Vector Control District board for a four-year term. Vice Mayor Prodock moved the appointment; Councilman Kramer seconded and the motion passed on a voice vote recorded as "Aye."
