The Clearlake City Council accepted the consent agenda by voice vote after a motion by Councilman Kramer and a second from Councilwoman Overton.
Before the consent vote, the clerk and mayor read public-comment rules and reported no in-person or Zoom commenters. The motion to accept the consent agenda was made and seconded, followed by a voice vote in which members responded "Aye" and the chair announced the motion passed (the transcript does not include a full roll-call tally).
In staff reports, the city manager warned of hot weather and listed county-coordinated cooling centers: Red Bud Library (Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and a peer counseling center on Lakeshore Drive near Clear Lake Automotive and Main Street (Sunday noon–4:30 p.m., Monday 8 a.m.–4 p.m.). The manager said more location information is available on the city’s social media channels.
The manager also noted upcoming events and logistics: a circus scheduled for September with tickets available at City Hall and Big O Tires, and the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce luau set for Oct. 1 at Cache Creek Vineyards. The manager announced that Finance Director Young will leave the city after this meeting and that the city has an accepted offer for a new finance director.
Council members used the reports to note local projects: President Kramer said a new storage building at the community center is structurally complete and is awaiting wiring and cameras, and Mayor Purdock said discussions on the Burns Valley Sports Complex are progressing toward a Planning Commission review. Councilman Claffey thanked the Highland Senior Center for its pandemic-era service to residents.
The council then closed the public meeting and recessed to closed session.
