Five residents introduce themselves as applicants for Cape Girardeau Golf Course advisory board

Five residents used the council’s public appointment introduction time on March 3 to introduce themselves as candidates for advisory boards.

Daniel Dowling (203 Camellia Drive) said he has lived in Cape Girardeau for about two years after military service and is applying to join the Golf Course Advisory Board because he plays golf and wants to serve. Don Harris, who said he was born in Cape Girardeau and is affiliated with the Missouri Golf Association as a rules official, also asked to be considered for the Golf Course Advisory Board.

Jared Snell described decades of residence and prior service as a liaison to the golf committee, including work assembling a fund to support course maintenance. Joe Denderwood said he is a lifelong resident with business experience and seeks to help the city through service on the golf advisory board. Richard Nogue said his term on the airport advisory board will end in April and asked to be considered for the Board of Adjustments and other boards, citing experience as a project manager and his service during a terminal transition.

The mayor advised that council would not vote on appointments that night; staff confirmed receipt of applications where submitted. The introductions were recorded for consideration ahead of future appointment decisions.
