The Lock Haven City Council voted on several routine items and approved staff recommendations on event permits, lease awards and contract direction.
Park and event approvals: Staff presented three park/facility requests that council approved: use of Zindler/Zendell Park on March 12 for a 6.5‑mile beginner trail run (organizer provided liability insurance and a special‑activity agreement), use of the floating stage and amphitheater on Aug. 7 for a Great Island Presbyterian Church music performance (insurance and safety protocols provided), and Museums in the Park on May 14 for a small wedding of fewer than 75 people.
Green Township leases: Staff said three proposals were received for agricultural parcels in Green Township and recommended awarding at least five leases across the separate properties; projected annual revenue from the leases was stated as $8,165. Council approved staff’s recommendation.
Contracts and grants: Council directed staff to renegotiate or re‑bid the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) sludge contract and related city cleaning services contracts that expire April 30, as allowed under current agreements or via a new bid process. The council also received and entered on the record a notification that the city received Community Development Block Grant funding in the amount of $322,441 (2021 award) and a university per‑student donation this year of $2,715.
Votes on the above items were taken by roll call and recorded as affirmative across members present. Details and follow-up tasks (insurance, special‑activity agreements, and contract procurement steps) remain with the appropriate departments.
