At the June 13 meeting the Needles City Council interviewed applicants and appointed three people to the Housing Commission to fill staggered vacancies.
Christian Mower introduced himself as a 10‑year Needles resident with extensive local customer‑service and restaurant‑management experience and said he wanted to help build communication between the commission and contractors. Another applicant identified in the record as Diaz described about 15 years of apartment management experience and local property ownership. The council moved to appoint the three candidates and assigned staggered term expiration years (2025, 2026 and 2027) as required to maintain rotating terms.
The motion to appoint the three applicants carried on a roll call vote; council members recorded affirmative votes. The council noted that an applicant who could not attend (Mr. Smith) will be considered for future openings if appropriate.
The appointments become effective immediately and the appointees will work with staff on housing program review, grant coordination and advising on increased housing construction to support economic development.
