Representatives of the Parlier Roundup Committee presented plans for the 2024 Parlier Roundup Festival at the council meeting on Feb. 13, saying the event will be held at Earl Ruth Park on April 20 with a parade, live bands and a children's carnival.
Committee members said the theme is an "All-American family reunion," encouraged local families and businesses to participate with floats and booths, and noted longtime sponsors and partners including Parlier Unified School District, AMM Engineering, Fowler Packing and Mid Valley Disposal. The committee also requested assistance identifying students in need of scholarship support to enable band members to attend an out-of-town performance; committee members said they already provide scholarships discreetly for students with financial need.
Why it matters: the Roundup is a longstanding community event that draws local participation and supports small businesses and scholarship efforts. Organizers asked city staff and council to help spread the word and to coordinate with the school district on scholarship needs.
Next steps: Roundup organizers will reach out to the district and school contacts; council members thanked the committee and encouraged residents and sponsors to participate.
