The Martin County fiscal court voted March 20 to adopt a resolution authorizing the county judge executive to apply for a Kentucky House Bill 1 county clerk election equipment grant of up to $32,890.18 with the Department for Local Government. The resolution authorizes the judge executive to execute necessary documents and act as the project correspondent.
The court also approved several routine administrative items by voice votes: the sheriff's 2023 fee settlement and acknowledgment of the check for excess fees; the annual baseball-league agreement allowing the league seasonal use of the county ballpark (with a new requirement that the league maintain restroom facilities and provide a dumpster and hauling during March–June); and a personnel action to change part-time transport officer Cameron Lindsey's pay structure to $11/hour with no net pay increase.
The judge thanked county staff and volunteers for ballpark renovations and recognized county employees for work stabilizing financial systems. The first reading of a FY2023 budget amendment ordinance was also read into the record; the first reading occurred and further action will follow at later meetings.
All items were approved by voice votes; the transcript does not record roll-call tallies.
