Councilman Famiglietti and residents presented photos and video showing repeated flooding at 15 Carriageway. They said a small pipe under the street and retention ponds behind the Lees Farm condominiums may not be adequately maintained and that backups are recurring. Residents urged the town to assess the pipe capacity under the carriageway and the condition of local retention ponds.
The council voted to send the matter to the public-safety committee and requested that DPW staff and the town engineer examine the pipe and potential remediation (cleaning, widening or other measures). A separate motion asked the Lees Farm Condominium Association to provide records from any contractor that cleaned or maintained the retention pond and to send a representative to the public-safety committee meeting. Both motions passed by voice vote.
Council members emphasized the importance of field inspection and documentation and said the public-safety committee should coordinate with DPW and collect evidence about whether retention-pond maintenance obligations were completed.
