On April 25 the Park and Recreation Commission approved a slate of no-fee special events and accepted several financial items brought forward by staff.
Speaker 5 presented three no-fee events: a Luminary Walkout/Lac La Rene event on Oct. 19; Enchantment in the Park under the Rotary MOU spanning late November through Dec. 24; and the Reindeer Run on Dec. 14. The commission also approved the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 14 in Regner Park, the Casa Guadalupe Fiesta Latina (moving from May to a two-day event in September), and NAMI Washington County's Afternoon in the Park (Sept. 28). Motions to approve these events were seconded and carried by voice votes.
Speaker 6 requested a resolution to transfer $559.45 from a therapeutic recreation account to cover recent overnight travel expenses for Special Olympics athletes; the commission approved the transfer and the item will go to common council on May 6.
The commission accepted donations: $261 from Friends of West Bend Parks & Recreation for women's volleyball championship-team sponsorship; $180 from West Bend Riverside Disc Golf Club for disc-golf-course improvements; and $500 from White Tails Unlimited for archery-range improvements. A motion to accept the donations carried by voice vote.
All votes were recorded in the transcript as carried by voice; no roll-call tallies were included in the public record provided.
